Olivier created Lexel in 2005 after spending some 4 years as an Associate Partner at Fidafrica Madagascar, an associate company of Price Waterhouse and Coopers.
Prior to this, Olivier worked as a director at Landwell&Associés, the legal arm of PWC. During his spell at L&A, Olivier focused his practice on mining and energy sectors. He is highly regarded for his skills in negotiating and drafting complex international contracts pertaining to mining and energy activities.
Olivier has also a vast experience in Francophone African Countries having lived in Gabon and Congo. He even earned a cap for the Gabon national rugby team.
Since the creation of Lexel, Olivier has been at the heart of the Malagasy economy having assisted an array of clients ranging from large multinational corporations to small entrepreneurs. His is renowned for his problem-solving approach to corporate and commercial issues and for his out-of-the box progressive thinking.
Olivier is a regular speaker at economic and business forums in the Indian Ocean region. He is a former vice president of the “Groupement des entreprisesmalgaches” (GEM) and a member of the “Chambre de Commerce et de l’industrie Franco malgache” (CCIFM).Olivier has also chaired Soutien Madagascar the “ desconseillers du commerce exterieur de la France” for 6 years.
Olivier was admitted to Paris Bar in 1993. He has a wealth of experience in restructuring, taxation, merger and acquisition issues. He is currently involved in the revision of the Petroleum and Mining Code. Clients highly appreciate his deep knowledge of the Malagasy business and political environment and customs.
Aviva joined Lexel in 2007 after having worked 5 years for a renowned commercial bank in Madagascar. Aviva focuses on banking and finance matters having experience in secured and unsecured lending structures, project and asset finance, and regulatory and general banking advice.
Aviva’s expertise is regularly sought in the drafting of financing and pledge agreements, partnership agreements, application for authorization from the SSOC (Service de suivi des opérations de Changes), and from the Bank regulator “Commission de supervision bancaire et financière” for matters related to Banking authorization, Mobile money, Microfinance …
Aviva’s drafting skills has been brought to contribution last year when Lexel was instructed to contribute to a bill on Private and Public Partnership. Aviva is regular contributor to the law reform committee in Madagascar.

Bertrand joined Lexel in October 2014. He advises on a variety of matters with respect to merger and acquisition, regulatory issues, mining operations and electricity laws. Bertrand also assists clients in the drafting of commercial contracts and the due diligence review of companies in Mauritius.
His practice often involves a cross-border element. He has advised many overseas clients on setting up business operations in Madagascar and structuring their investments through low tax jurisdications.

Frédéric has a Master in Business Law from the Institut Catholique de Madagascar. He is involved in a wide spectrum of taxation matters (tax journal, tax audit, income tax return, intervention with the tax administration).
Tafita has a Master in Business Law from the Université d’Antananarivo, he is involved in land and real estate law, mergers-acquisitions and drafting/review of commercial contracts.
Volasoa has a Master in Business Law from the Université d’Antananarivo. She has extensive experience in corporate and security law.
Gilliana has a Master in Business legal management from the ESC Toulouse and a Master in Business Law from the Université de l’Arsenal Toulouse. She specializes into employment and industrial laws as well as drafting of contracts.
Karoll has a Master in Business Law from the Institut Catholique de Madagascar. She specialises in taxation (tax journal, tax audit, income tax return, intervention with the tax administration).
Onja has a Master in Business Law from the Université d’Antananarivo. He focuses on mining law, environmental law and visas and work permits.
Andry has a Master II in Private Law – Business Law from the Université Catholique de Madagascar, his fields of expertise are corporate law and free-trade zones laws and regulation.
Lalaina has a Master degree in Commercial Law from the Université d’Antananarivo, he practices in the field of taxation (tax journal, tax audit, income tax return, intervention with the tax administration).
